MAHABALIPURAM:- A 7th century port city of the South Indian dynasty of the Pallavas. It has various historic monuments built largely between the 7th and the 9th centuries.

Highlight:- The temples built during the reigns of Narasimhavarman and Rajasimhavarman showcase the movement from rock-cut architecture to structural building. Shore Temple, Arjunas Penance and Five Rathas,

MUTTUKADU:- Muttukadu is a backwater destination and excellent picnic spot. It is a water sport facility located in the backwater area of the Bay of Bengal. TTDC (Tamilnadu tourism Development Corporation) has introduced boathouses in Muttukadu.

Highlight:- Muttukadu offers wide range of water sports options like Boating, wind surfing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, etc.
In and Around:- Dakshina Chitra, Crocodile Bank and Mahabalipuram.
Note:- The windsurfing regatta held every Feb attracts worldwide water sports lovers. Training programs are available in windsurfing and other water sports activities.

DAKSHINA CHITRA:- A picture of south” is a time machine taking you back 150 years to give you a portrayal of the art, folk and craft of a bygone era. Dakshina Chitra is a famous heritage centre.

Highlight:- The architectural and cultural heritages of the South Indian states are showcased here.
In and Around:- Muttukadu, Kovalam / Covelong Beach and Mahabalipuram.
Note:- The architectural features of each state, the typical homes of each region of South India are built here.

Season:- Throughout the year. (10 am to 6 pm) - Closed on Tuesdays. Open on all National Holidays except Diwali

CROCODILE BANK:- The Croc Bank is situated approximately 45km south of Chennai and 15km north of the tourist town of Mamallapuram. Nestled in a patch of indigenous forest and fronting the Bay of Bengal, the zoo is easily accessed by one of the many busses, taxis and auto-rickshaws that ply the scenic East Coast Road.

Highlight:- It is s one of the largest reptile zoos in the world and one of the oldest non government environmental organizations in Asia.

In and Around:- Muttukadu, Dakshina Chitra and Mahabalipuram.
Note:- Crocodile Feeding Sessions  on Sundays at: 11:30am, 12:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:00pm
Season:- Throughout the year (08.30 am to 5.30 pm), Closed on Mondays.

KOVALAM / COVELONG:- A famous beach resort. It was originally just a small fishing village, but now also expanded to become one of the most famous beach resorts in South India. You can still explore the old sea port that used to exist there.
Highlight:- The beaches at that location are absolutely exquisite, and are greatly enjoyed by that entire visit there. Swimming and wind surfing are popular activities at this beach.
In and Around:- Muttukadu, Dakshina Chitra and Mahabalipuram.
Note:- It is also to these beaches that the well-known Olive Ridley Turtles travel to every year to hatch their eggs.

CHOLAMANDAL ARTISTS VILLAGE:- Established in 1964 is an institution of fine arts and crafts. Established by students of the Madras School of Arts and Crafts, it has come to be recognized as a significant school of arts and crafts.

Highlight:- It has a permanent art gallery to hold exhibitions. Sculptures made of granite, wood, copper and bronze are created within the Artists Village.

In and Around:- ISKCON Temple and VGP Golden Beach.

Note:- Artists live as a community and pooled together their skills and resources.
Season:- Throughout the year.
