TIRUMALA, TIRUPATHI, ANDHRA PRADESH, adope of Sri Venkateshwara (also known as Balaji - an incarnation of Lord Vishnu) is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage centers in India. The temple of Lord Venkateshwara was built by the Tamil King Thondaimaan.

The 2 meter high standing Idol of Lord Venkateshwara on a lotus flanked by his consorts Bhudevi and Sridevi. The most striking feature of the awe-inspiring black idol is its fabulous Diamond Crown, which is said to be the most precious single ornament in the World.

The temple draws millions of Pilgrims from all parts of India. The Sanctorum "Ananda Nilayam" has a glittering gold covered 'Vimana' and gold covered gates.

LORD VENKATESHWARA TEMPLE, TIRUMALA, TIRUPATI, an historical and holy temple of Lord Venkateshwara (Tirupathi Temple) is situated in the 7th peak of the Venkata Tirupathi Hill in the south banks of Sri Swami Pushkarni. A fine example for Dravidian temple architecture. Venkateshwara Temple has witnessed the rise and fall of various dynasties.

Sanctum Santorum, is adorned by the Venkateswara Idol, which stands to a height of 8 feet under the gold gilded dome called the Anandha Nilaya Divya Vimana. The Idol is believed to be Swayamboo and it looks exquisitely wrought in its jet- black stone structure.

Deity:- The deity bears a clear impression of Goddess Lakshmi on the right side of his chest. His two upper arms hold a (conch-shell)  sankha and chakra. His lower left hand is turned inward, the palm of his lower right hand is turned outward offering blessings.

The deity in the shrine is ornamented with precious stones, which gives it a unique appeal. It is firmly believed that the diety is so benevolent that he grants the wish of anyone who offers him something.

Note:- It is to be noted that this is the wealthiest temple in the entire subcontinent.
